The electronic control device is provided with a main control unit, a monitoring control unit that monitors whether the main control unit is abnormal, and a power supply circuit that supplies power to the main control unit and the monitoring control unit, wherein: the electronic control device is provided with a signal holding circuit that receives and holds a signal indicating whether the main control unit is abnormal from the monitoring control unit; and the electronic control device is characterized in that the monitoring control unit holds the power supply circuit in an OFF state via the signal holding circuit when the monitoring control unit has determined that the main control unit is abnormal.
