The invention relates to a gas extinguishing system (1) for a specified protection region (14), in particular a small parts warehouse, wherein the gas extinguishing system (1) has an inert gas source (2) and a diffuser system (4) which is flow-connected to the inert gas source (2) via a pipeline system (3). According to the invention, the diffuser system (4) has a diffuser pipe (7) having a plurality of bores (13) in the shell surface of the diffuser pipe (7) and a pressure reducer (8) allocated to the diffuser pipe (7). In order to achieve an absence of reaction in respect of the diffuser system (4) from the design view of the gas extinguishing system (1), according to the invention the diffuser system (4) is designed such that, during the flood time designed in respect of the protection region (14), an aperture pre-pressure measured absolutely in bar is at least twice as high as the interior pressure of the diffuser pipe (7), and that, during the designed flood time, the interior pressure of the diffuser pipe (7) equals 2 bar absolute at maximum. |
