A flooding method for suppressing a fire at a burning material comprising delivering to said burning material (a) an inert gas and (b) a fluoroolefin, stored as a compressed liquid in a separate container, selected from the group consisting of a hydrofluoroolefins, hydrochlorofluoroolefins, hydrobromofluoroolefins, and mixtures thereof, (a) and (b) being delivered in a combined concentration sufficient to extinguish the fire, wherein the inert gas (a) is delivered to said burning material in a concentration of at least 5% v/v, and compound (b) is delivered to said burning material in a concentration of at least 1% v/v. |
