This suturing device is provided with a long shaft member which extends in the longitudinal axis, a pair of gripping members (11, 12) which are arranged at the leading end of said long shaft member swingably about a pivot shaft perpendicular to the longitudinal axis and which can be opened and closed relative to each other, and a transfer mechanism (15) for transferring the suture needle (3) between the gripping members (11, 12). The gripping members (11, 12) are provided with a fitting hole (11a, 12a) which are provided in the opening/closing direction and into which the suture needle (3) can be removably fitted, and with contact portions (30, 31) which contact the front and back surfaces of the suturing target partway during the closing action of the gripping members (11, 12) to prevent movement in the direction along the surface of said suture target. |
