PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve high picture quality by obtaining an appropriate optimum solution even when a tradeoff relation exists among picture quality items when a color profile is created by optimizing an object function for evaluating a plurality of picture quality items.SOLUTION: Optimization is performed for each lattice point in an initial profile in which an initial value is set as an output value for an input lattice point. In other words, by setting a peripheral value for an initial value of an output value (S302), and analyzing an object function of a plurality of picture quality items concerning the initial value and the peripheral value, whether or not a tradeoff relation of a picture quality exists is determined (S304). When a tradeoff relation does not exist, a single purpose optimization is performed (S306), when a tradeoff relation exists, multiple purpose optimization is performed (S308). |
