The method (200) may also include roughening (204) an outer surface (105) of the pre-formed pultruded product (104) as the product is being transported in the processing direction (122) along the travel path and cutting the preformed pultruded product (104) lengthwise in the processing direction (122) to form first and second pultruded plates (114A, 114B) as the product is being transported in the processing direction (122) along the travel path, wherein each of the first and second pultruded plates (114A, 114B) defines a width (164) in the widthwise direction (162) that is less than the initial width (160) of the product.
