A control valve for a variable displacement compressor is housed within and assembled into a mounting hole (162) from a tip side, the mounting hole (162) being formed in a housing of the variable displacement compressor. The control valve includes a first seal ring (86), made of resin, which restricts the external leakage of refrigerant by way of a gap between the body and the mounting hole (162), a second seal ring (88), made of resin, which restricts the entry of moisture by way of a gap between the solenoid (3) and the mounting hole (162), the second seal ring (88) being assembled in such a manner as to be placed around the solenoid (3), and a low strength part (71) that lowers the sealing power of the O-ring (88) and releases a pressure (Pp) to outside air, when the pressure (Pp) of a space (S) between the O-ring (86) and the O-ring (88) in the mounting hole (162) becomes a preset pressure or above. |
