PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image inspection device capable of reading colors and glossiness of an image in one reading operation and simplifying a configuration thereof, and an image forming apparatus.SOLUTION: An image inspection device 6 is a device for measuring colors and glossiness of an image on a recording sheet 10 with a solid-state imaging sensor 62 using light from a light source 61, and includes a first polarizer 67 that aligns the light emitted from the light source 61 into linear polarization light and irradiates the recording sheet 10 with the linear polarization light, and a second polarizer 68 that determines a polarization direction of light reflected on the recording sheet 10 and forms the reflected light into an image on the solid-state imaging sensor 62. With this configuration, the second polarizer 68 can alternately switch propriety of the image formation with the regular reflected light to the solid-state imaging sensor 62 during the passing of one recording sheet 10; and therefore, the image inspection device 6 can simultaneously measure the color and the glossiness of the recording sheet 10. |
