455,247. Bituminous compositions. GROVES, W. W., 30, Southampton Buildings, Chancery Lane, London.-(Wigankow & Sachse Neuzeitlicher Strassenbau Ges. ; 9, Teilestrasse, Tempelhof, Berlin) Aug. 9, 1935, No. 22512. [Class 22] Road-making material adapted to be laid cold is made by coating mineral aggregate with molten bitumen of high melting point and applying a dusting powder by passing the material through a cooling drum in which it is cooled down to the dripping point by a stream of cool dust-laden air flowing in the direction of the travel of the material and also in counter current thereto. As shown, the hot material from a mixer passes first through a drum 2 through which cool air carrying dusting powder is blown through a pipe 6, and then through a second drum 4 through which air carrying dusting powder is blown in counter direction through a pipe 7. The dust adheres when the bitumen has been cooled to the dripping point.
