PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base isolation method for an existing building which enables construction while supporting an existing building by a simple and small-scale structure.SOLUTION: The base isolation method for an existing building, which installs a base isolation device to a column of the existing building, includes: a column upper part reinforcing step of additionally placing concrete on the outer periphery of a column upper part, which is the upper part of the column installed with the base isolation device, to form a column upper part reinforcing part which reinforces the column upper part; a column lower part reinforcing step of additionally placing concrete on the outer periphery of a column lower part, which is located under the column upper part, to form a lower reinforcement column body where the column is integrated with a column lower part reinforcing part which reinforces the column lower part; and a load support member installing step of supporting a load support member, which supports the column upper part reinforcing part from below, by the lower reinforcement column body for transmitting a load of a superstructure body located above the column to a substructure body located below the column, and installing a friction joint part, capable of coping with a horizontal load, between the column upper part reinforcing part and the load support member. |
