摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To constantly take photographs at a stable focus and exposure by automatically setting an evaluation range for autofocus and exposure control in on-vehicle photographing.SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus includes: an imaging element 106 for converting an optical image imaged by an imaging optical system into a video signal; and a motion vector detecting circuit 114 for detecting a motion vector from the video signal obtained by the imaging element 106. A camera microcomputer 115 sets an autofocus frame or a photometry frame according to the detection result of the motion vector. In that case, the video obtained by the imaging element 106 is divided in the x direction and the y direction into a plurality of blocks, detects the motion vector in each block, and defines an intersection area of motion vectors detected by the respective blocks as the autofocus frame or the photometry frame.
