PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of forming an image on both of one side and the other side of a recording medium by switching the conveyance direction of the recording medium with a simple configuration while reducing costs and noise.SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus comprises: a solenoid switch 104 which is selectively switched between a non-excited state in which a normal rotation mode or a stuck mode of a switching unit 83 can be selected and an excited state in which an inverted mode of the switching unit 83 can be selected; and a CPU 72 which can control the solenoid switch 104. The switching unit 83 is configured so that the normal rotation mode or the stuck mode is selectively maintained on the basis of a first control of the CPU 72, the inverted mode is maintained on the basis of a second control of the CPU 72, and the normal rotation mode and the stuck mode are mutually changed before and after a third control of the CPU 72. |
