Provided is an aqueous black ink composition that can form black recorded images having excellent light resistance and water resistance, in particular, being hardly discolored by light. The aqueous ink composition of the present invention at least contains, as colorants, both a compound represented by Formula (1) or its salt or a mixture thereof and a colorant having a maximum absorption wavelength »max in a range of 560 to 680 nm and having a phthalocyanine skeleton. In Formula (1), R 1 , R 2 , R 5 , R 6 and R 7 each independently represent, for example, a hydrogen atom, a carboxy group, a sulfo group, or a nitro group; R 3 and R 4 each independently represent, for example, a hydrogen atom or a sulfo group; and n represents 0 or 1. |
