An image processing apparatus comprises a light source unit, a reading unit, a white reference plate, a check mark and a determination unit. The light source unit illuminates a sheet. The reading unit reads the image of the sheet. The white reference plate is a plate-shaped component for shading compensation. The check mark is a mark formed on the white reference plate and located outside a range in which the sheet is read. The determination unit determines whether or not dew is formed based on the result of the reading of the check mark by the reading unit. |
