A sequence of multiple subimages is captured by an imaging sensor organized in multiple subsets of pixels. Each of the subsets of pixels is assigned to capturing a corresponding one of the subimages. For each of the subsets of pixels, a noise level of an output of the pixels of the subset is measured. Depending on the measured noise level, an exposure time for capturing the corresponding subimage is controlled. |

1. A method of imaging a scene, the method comprising:
capturing a sequence of multiple subimages by an imaging sensor organized in multiple subsets of pixels, each of the subsets of pixels being assigned to capturing a corresponding one of the subimages; and for each of the subsets of pixels:
obtaining samples of an output signal of the subsets of pixels during the exposure time;processing the obtained samples to evaluate the noise level and an averaged output signal;in response to the noise level being above a threshold, extending the exposure time to obtain further samples of the output signal of the pixels; andin response to the noise level being below the threshold, ending the exposure time for capturing the subimage. |
