Provided are a dry colon cleansing composition for admixture with water, an aqueous solution for cleansing the colon and a unit dose colon cleansing composition for admixture with water. The above stated compositions may be presented at least in two parts. Said compositions and the aqueous solution comprise, per litre of solution to be made, the following components, g: polyethylene glycol having an average molecular weight of 2500 to 4500 - 85-115; sodium sulphate - 6-9; sodium chloride - 2-3; potassium chloride - 0.5-1.5; organic acid component - 5-15; and orange flavouring comprising maltodextrin in an amount of 35-95% by weight of the flavouring - 0.1-0.9. Also provided is a kit for colon cleansing that comprises two containers, the first one containing a composition comprising the above stated components with the same as above weight ratio of the components, and the second one containing a second composition comprising 5 to 1 5g of an organic acid component per litre of solution to be made. Furthermore, provided is a method of cleansing the colon in which the composition is ingested comprising the above stated components with the same as above weight ratio of the components. |
