The metal parts, other than the filament, within the envelope of an electric incandescent lamp, consist of a nickel-iron alloy substantially free from carbon, containing not more than 50 per cent of iron and containing also titanium or zirconium in a proportion between 1 per cent and 10 per cent. In an example the composition of the alloy is 72 per cent nickel, 25 per cent iron, and 3 per cent titanium. |
