a platen having a top surface to support an object being manufactured; a dispenser to deliver a plurality of successive layers of feed material over the platen; a first heater configured to heat the feed material to a first temperature that is below a temperature at which the powder becomes tacky before the feed material is dispensed by the dispenser; and an energy source to fuse at least some of an outermost layer of feed material over the platen. |
