Provided are: a magnesium fluoride sintered body which is suppressed in cracking or chipping and has increased relative density; a method for producing a magnesium fluoride sintered body; a neutron moderator; and a method for producing a neutron moderator. This magnesium fluoride sintered body has a disk-like shape, and has a through hole H1 that penetrates the central axis O. This magnesium fluoride sintered body has a relative density of 95% or more.
