A method and system for issuing an electronic certificate, related to the technical field of online payment. The method comprises: an electronic certificate issuing request is submitted by an applicant end to a fund management server, where the electronic certificate issuing request comprises a payment mode for the electronic certificate (S11); a determination is made on whether or not the payment mode is a preset payment mode (S12); if yes, then a payment code corresponding to the electronic certificate is acquired (S13); and the payment code is transmitted to a designated end (S14). The method, insofar that a certificate issuing criterion is satisfied, sets the payment code when the certificate is being issued, thus increasing the security of payment; correspondingly, a certificate recipient simply provides the payment code to complete payment when receiving the certificate, thus also increasing the degree of convenience of payment, and enhancing user experience. |
