摘要 A method is disclosed for determining a flow acceleration directly from beamformed ultrasound data, i.e. independent of velocity estimates. The method includes extracting data from two different times and a same position, or two different positions and a same time, from the beamformed ultrasound data, and producing cross- correlation data to directly estimate the flow acceleration. The flow acceleration estimate may be processed to derive information for analyzing ventricular performance, studying hemodynamics or estimating pressure gradients in the circulatory system. An apparatus includes a beamformer (112) configured to process electrical signals indicative of received echoes produced in response to an interaction of a transmitted ultrasound signal with tissue and generate RF data, and an acceleration flow processor (114) configured to directly process the RF data and generate a flow acceleration therefrom.
