Provided is a power transmission device with which the operating rate of an underwater marine vessel during the transmission of power can be improved. This power transmission device (100) transmits power underwater to an underwater marine vessel (60) having a power reception coil (CLB). The power transmission device (100) is equipped with: a power transmission coil (CLA) that transmits power to the power reception coil (CLB) via a magnetic field; a power transmission unit that transmits AC voltage with a frequency of 10 kHz or less to the power transmission coil (CLA); and a first capacitor that is connected to the power transmission coil (CLA) and that, together with the power transmission coil (CLA), forms a resonance circuit (152) that resonates at the aforementioned frequency.
