A boot for a constant velocity universal joint is configured so that a cylindrical mounting section adapted to be mounted to a shaft is fitted over and affixed to the shaft, the shaft extending from the inner joint member of the constant velocity universal joint. The mounting section is provided with an air passage groove for forming, in cooperation with the outer-diameter surface of the shaft, a communication passage for providing communication between the inside and outside of the joint. The boot is provided with a stopper section which, on the inner-diameter side of the outer end of the mounting section, receives foreign matter to prevent the foreign matter from entering the inside of the joint. The external opening of the communication passage is provided further toward the outer-diameter side than the stopper section. |
