The invention relates to a new type of redox-flow battery called a "redox-particle-flow" battery, wherein the positive and negative active materials, e.g. the redox pairs employed at the positive electrode and at the negative electrode, are solid-phase materials. The latter take the form of electrically conductive particles that are transported as needs be into the electrolyte-bathed reactional zone, in which they form a sediment and percolate electrically as far as the current collectors, allowing the redox reactions to take place and the battery to operate. |
