Aspects of the present disclosure relate to systems for readily facilitating making telecommunications service upgrades or other changes in service in the field. In certain examples, the system includes one or more environmentally sealed enclosures adapted for housing equipment (switching circuitry, optical-to-electrical conversion circuitry, etc.). The enclosures can be installed in hand-holes (i.e., pits) or other underground installation locations.
