The present invention relates to a material (II) containing a matrix (IV) consisting of an inorganic network, in which semiconductor nanoparticles (III) and anisotropic gold nanoparticles (I) are distributed, the semiconductor nanoparticles (III) representing from 30 to 70 wt% of the total weight of the material (II). Said material is characterized in that: the anisotropic gold nanoparticles (I) represent from 0.1 to 10 wt% of the total weight of the material (II), preferably from 0.5 to 5 wt% of the total weight of the material (II), and more preferably from 0.5 to 2 wt% of the total weight of the material (II), and the anisotropic gold nanoparticles (I) have a particular shape as defined in claim 1. The invention also relates to the use of a material according to the invention for photocatalytic breakdown of organic compounds, particularly biological or chemical agents, or for photovoltaic power production, and to a method for preparing such a material. |
