The invention relates to a hob device (10a-b) having a hob plate (12a- b), which is provided for placement of at least of one cookware item (14a-b), and having at least one radiation conductor (16a-b), which is provided in order to conduct infrared radiation to at least one infrared-sensor (18a-b) in at least one operating state. The problem addressed by the invention is that of providing a generic device having improved properties with regard to a temperature measurement. This problem is solved in that the radiation conductor (16a-b) has at least one radiation receiving region (20a-b) which extends over a substantial part of the hob plate (12a-b).
