PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multilayer base material being an intermediate base material of fiber-reinforced plastic, and a method for producing the multilayer base material.SOLUTION: The multilayer base material is obtained by layering a plurality of prepreg layers, each of which comprises a plurality of unidirectionally-oriented reinforcing fibers and a thermoplastic resin, on one another. The prepreg layer has incisions, each of which is deep enough to cut the reinforcing fibers, in a direction crossing the reinforcing fibers. The fiber length L of the reinforcing fiber divided by the incisions becomes the maximum at one outermost layer and becomes the minimum at the other outermost layer. A maximum value of the fiber length L of the reinforcing fiber is 10 to 200 mm and a minimum value of the fiber length L of the reinforcing fiber is equal to or longer than 2 mm and shorter than 10 mm. |
