PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gradation processing method, an image forming apparatus, and a program capable of reproducing an input image pattern in an output image as faithfully as possible.SOLUTION: There is provided a gradation processing method for performing gradation processing to convert the number of input gradation of input image data into output gradation, and including steps of comparing input gradation data with output gradation data to calculate the degree of loss of the amount of information, and performing gradation processing different from prescribed gradation processing according to the degree of loss to reduce the degree of loss. |
