The invention relates to a soundproof engine. The soundproof engine provided with a soundproof cover can increase maintenance operation without damaging a soundproof property. The soundproof engine comprises the soundproof cover (15) for accommodating an engine main body, and components at the periphery of the engine, and a fuel tank, an opening (15B) formed on a side wall of the soundproof cover (15) and a cover component (51) installed in a manner of covering the opening. The upper edge of the opening is provided with a notch (15E) from the upper part of the side wall of the soundproof cover to the upper wall; the cover component is composed ofan upper cover (51) having a shape corresponding to the notch and a side cover (52) having a shape corresponding to the opening except for the notch. For the notch, the upper cover (51) is engaged by inserting into the notch from a side part. The side cover (52) is fixed on the side wall of the soundproof cover in a state of covering the opening and connecting the upper edge and the opening edge of the upper cover. |
