PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine, in the event of a failed gate interference circuit, whether the failure influences an increased switching loss or a disabled inverter device.SOLUTION: An inverter device 1 includes: an inverter 2 including a first and a second switching elements each constituting an upper arm and a lower arm; a gate interference circuit 5 for switching between both arm drive and one arm drive; and a failure detector 6. The failure detector 6 calculates a gate-off time on the basis of a current threshold to switch between both-arm drive and one-arm drive, an output current value of the inverter 2, and revolutions of a motor M. The failure detector 6 detects occurrence of an open failure of the gate interference circuit 5 if the gate-off time is larger than a reference gate-off time range, whereas detects occurrence of a short-circuit failure of the gate interference circuit 5 if the gate-of time is smaller than the reference gate-off time range. |
