PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a droplet discharge device and an ink jet printer, which are enabled, in the case where the discharge abnormality of a droplet discharge head is detected, to confirm efficiently whether or not a droplet discharge head is caused to restore a normal state by a restoration and a re-inspection.SOLUTION: If an abnormal nozzle having caused a discharge abnormality exists in the case where a detection is made on all nozzles by discharge abnormality detecting means 10, a droplet discharge device 1 executes a flashing treatment upon only the abnormal nozzle, and a liquid droplet ejection operation is then performed upon only the abnormal nozzle after a flushing treatment was executed upon only the abnormal nozzle thereby to perform detection by the discharge abnormality detecting means 10. In the case of the re-abnormal nozzle not having solved the ejection abnormality, a recovery treatment according to the cause of the discharge abnormality of the re-abnormal nozzle is executed upon at least the re-abnormal nozzle, and the liquid droplet ejection operation is then performed by recovery means 24 only upon the re-abnormal nozzle thereby to perform the detection by the discharge abnormality detecting means 10. |
