PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet transfer device capable of suppressing noise from being generated from nearby a discharge roller, and an image reader.SOLUTION: A support member 33 which supports a reverse-surface side of a sheet discharged by discharge rollers 23, 27 and lifts a conveyance-directional end of the sheet having been discharged to above a conveyance-directional front end of a sheet discharged later is provided downstream from the discharge rollers 23, 27 in a conveyance direction. The discharge roller 27 is provided with projections 27A, which project centrifugal directions, at an outer periphery. A guide member 35 which projects downward and has its projection-directional front end extended along the conveyance direction of the sheet is provided downstream from the discharge rollers 23, 27 in the conveyance direction. The discharge roller 27 and guide member 35 are arranged where arrangement ranges in extending directions of axes as the centers of rotation of the discharge rollers 23, 27 do not overlap each other. |
