Adhesive composition comprises: (a) a liquid mixture component comprising cyanoacrylate monomers and at least one plasticizer; and (b) an aqueous liquid component comprising at least a borate salt, basic amino acid, gelatin or gelatin derivative, where the proportion of the plasticizer is greater than 10 wt.%. Independent claims are included for: (1) an adhesive compound produced or producible from the adhesive composition; (2) a kit comprising two containers, in which one container comprises the component (a) and the other container comprises the component (b); and (3) an application device comprising the adhesive composition.
