An article sorting machine includes image data acquisition means, variation image generation means, identifying means, and control means, in order to improve identification ratio of an article in a resupply process. The image data acquisition means acquires an image of a target object as a target object image data. The variation image generation means generates variation image data similar to the target object image data. The identifying means determines whether or not identification of the target object is possible by comparing a target object secondary image data acquired by imaging the target object again with the target object image data, by comparing the target object image data with the variation image data. The control means executes processing for identifying the target object based on the determination result of the identifying means.
