PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glass substrate usable for a high-contrast flat panel display, and to provide a production method thereof, and a liquid crystal display.SOLUTION: As a glass substrate 1 for a high-contrast flat panel display, a glass substrate comprising alumino-borosilicate glass is used, which has platinum or a platinum alloy not having light transmissivity, having a long-side length of 200 μm or less, and having a short-side length less than 5 μm, and a projection having a height from the main surface less than 0.15 μm on a position on the main surface 3 of the glass substrate corresponding to the position of the platinum or the platinum alloy. |
