The method involves exchanging data automatically during coupling of a telephone system (1) or a telephone or an extension line of the telephone system with a mobile telecommunication terminal over a transmission protocol. The coupling is realized as central authority over a module (4). The module is an adapter, a dongle or a docking station. The data of the network layer, transport layer, session layer, presentation layer or application layer of an open systems interconnection-reference model are transmitted to the mobile telecommunication terminal.
