The invention relates to an assembly of an air guide (10) to a structural element of a motor vehicle using fixing means (30). The latter comprise a first fixing element (31) secured to the air guide (10) and a second fixing element secured to the structural element, collaborating in the same direction of attachment. The first fixing element (31) is secured to the air guide by retaining means (40) configured to break in the event of an impact. The lateral edges (11) of the air guide have guide parts (50) situated substantially facing the second fixing elements, which guide parts are configured to guide a lateral edge of the structural element if the retaining means (40) break as a result of a movement of the air guide toward the structural element in the event of an impact. The extent to which the air guide (10) moves back toward the structural element is thus limited.
