[Class 26] Apparatus for disinfecting a closet &c. comprises a chamber 1 adapted to be interposed in the down pipe and having pipes 8, 3 in axial alignment each extending inside and outside of the chamber and also an open-ended sheath 12 for the reception of a solid block of disinfectant the end of the sheath terminates short of the bottom of the chamber and the upstanding wall of the pipe 3 serves as a dam for the retention after each operation of a quantity of liquid disinfectant. Access to the sheath, which may be of gauze, is given by an aperture closed by a screw-cap 15 and the pipes 3, 8 are respectively screw-threaded and fitted with a threaded union 9 for attachment to the down pipe.
