PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transfer assist device capable of safely transferring a care-receiver from a bed to a wheelchair or the like without applying a large physical burden to a caretaker and being usable even in a narrow space such as the inside of a toilet.SOLUTION: The transfer assist device includes: a rotary table 7 supported on a moving base 1 so as to rotate in a horizontal plane; a chair 16 with a backrest erected on the rotary table; a stop device 17 for preventing the movement of the moving base; and a rotation locking device 19 preventing the rotation of the rotary table 7. The transfer assist device further includes footrest parts 50a and 50b on a part of the rotary table 7 at a part corresponding to a lower side of a front edge of a seat part of the chair 16. In a state where a caretaker A faces a care-receiver B in front of the chair 16, with the legs opened and both feet placed on the floor, makes both feet of the care-receiver placed on the footrest parts, sits on the chair 16, with the care-receiver lifted up in the arms to place the care-receiver on the rotary table, and rotates the rotary table to change the direction of the body of the care-receiver. |
