PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that in a conventional head light for a vehicle, it may be difficult to obtain a good (ideal) light distribution pattern.SOLUTION: A head light for a vehicle includes semiconductor light sources 2L, 2H, reflectors 3L, 3H, a lens 4 and a light shading member 7. The semiconductors 2L, 2H have a downward light emitting surface 24. The reflectors 3L, 3H have reflection surfaces 31, 32. The lens 4 has a plurality of areas (an emission surface 46), a first lens part 41, a second lens part 42, and a step surface 48. The light shading member 7 is arranged on the emission surface 46 of the lens 4 and at a place corresponding to the step surface 48. Consequently, a good (ideal) light distribution pattern LP for low beam and a good (ideal) light distribution pattern HP for high beam can be obtained. |
