ATTACHMENT OF HOOF BLOCKS

A device 10 for elevating the injured claw of a cloven hoofed animal, particularly but not exclusively a bovine animal. The device comprises means for receiving the claw of a cloven hoofed animal 12 and means for retaining a hoof block 16. A sole plate 14 sits below the claw in use. The receiving means preferably comprises a circumferential flange provided in or on the sole plate or attachable thereto and which may be integral therewith. The device may be made from a biodegradable plastics material. A wooden hoof block (fig 4) for use with the device is also claimed.
