PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power generation device capable of quickly stopping a power generator according to prescribed conditions.SOLUTION: A power generation device 1 includes: a main shaft 2; a speed-increasing gear 3 increasing a speed of rotation of the main shaft 2 and outputting the same from an output shaft 35; and a generator 4 having a driving shaft 41 rotated by inputting the rotation of the output shaft 35, and a rotor 42 rotated integrally with the driving shaft 41, and generating electricity by the rotation of the rotor 42. The power generation device further includes: a one-way clutch 7 disposed between the output shaft 35 and the driving shaft 41, so that the output shaft 35 and the driving shaft 41 are integrally rotatably connected in a first state that a rotating speed of the output shaft 35 is higher than a rotating speed of the driving shaft 41, and the output shaft 35 is disconnected from the input shaft 41 in a second state that the rotating speed of the output shaft 35 is lower than the rotating speed of the driving shaft 41; connecting means 9 capable of integrally rotatably connecting the output shaft 35 and the driving shaft 41 at least in the second state; and a control portion 12 for controlling a motion of the connecting means 9 so that the output shaft 35 and the driving shaft 41 are connected with each other according to prescribed conditions. |
