PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte lithium ion secondary battery high in capacity even in charging/discharging at high temperature and high voltage, long in life, and high in reliability and safety.SOLUTION: A positive electrode material for a nonaqueous electrolyte lithium ion secondary battery is represented by general composition formula: LiCoNiMO(in the formula, M represents at least one element of Al and Mg, and α, &bgr;, γ and δ are parameters satisfying relations of 0.01≤α≤0.10, 0.01≤&bgr;≤0.05, 0.001≤γ≤0.02 and 0≤δ≤0.01). |
