Embodiments of the present invention provide a method for obtaining unlicensed frequency information and a device. The method includes: obtaining, by UE, measurement information of a first signal in an unlicensed frequency, and recording the measurement information of the first signal; and reporting, by the UE, the recorded measurement information to a base station. In addition, the method may further include: receiving, by the UE, third indication information sent by the base station, where the third indication information is used to enable the UE to obtain use information of the unlicensed frequency and report use information, obtained within a preset time, of the unlicensed frequency; obtaining, by the UE, the use information of the unlicensed frequency according to the third indication information; and reporting the use information, obtained within the preset time, of the unlicensed frequency to the base station. By means of the method, the base station can obtain related information of an unlicensed frequency by using the UE. Therefore, the UE can perform communication by properly using the unlicensed frequency.
