PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a honeycomb structure in which breakage due to thermal stress is effectively prevented.SOLUTION: There is provided a honeycomb structure 100 which comprises: porous partition walls 1 for partitioning and forming a plurality of cells 2 extending from a first end surface 11 to a second end surface 12 as flow channels for a fluid; and an outer peripheral wall 3 disposed at the outermost peripheral so as to surround the partition walls 1, wherein the partition walls 1 have a thermal expansion coefficient at 40 to 800°C of 1.0×10to 7.0×10/K and the outer peripheral wall 3 has a surface roughness of 0.5 to 4.0 μm. |
