An inside air/outside air switching unit (14) for constituting an air conditioning device (10) for a vehicle has a filter (52) received in a replaceable manner within a second casing (40) of the inside air/outside air switching unit (14). The filter (52) is held such that the upper end and lower end of the filter (52) are inserted into a set of first and second protrusions (48, 50) protruding from the inner wall surfaces (46a, 46b) of the second casing (40). When the filter (52) is not installed, the first and second protrusions (48, 50) function as air flow resistance increase means for increasing air flow resistance when air having been taken in into the second casing (40) flows. Consequently, the rate of air flow when the air filter (52) is not installed is reduced by a turbulent flow generated by the first and second protrusions (48, 50) and can thereby be set substantially equal to the rate of air flow when the filter (52) is installed. |
