The disclosure provides a hearing device. The hearing device comprises a processing unit, a memory unit and an interface. The hearing device may comprise a processing unit configured to compensate for hearing loss of a user of the hearing device. The hearing device may be configured to receive an authentication message from a client device via the interface. The hearing device may be configured to derive a client device identifier from the authentication message. The hearing device may be configured to store the client device identifier in the memory unit.
