POLY(VINYL ALCOHOL)-BASED FILM AND POLARIZING FILM

摘要

The present invention is a poly(vinyl alcohol)-based film which has a thickness of 5-60 µm and in which the film surface, when examined in 25ºC water by a nanoindentation test using a scanning probe microscope, has a Young's modulus of 15-40 MPa. Use of this poly(vinyl alcohol)-based film makes it possible to obtain a polarizing film having very few flaws. As a result, a polarizing film having few display defects and having excellent polarization performance is obtained.
