A discharge electrode (10) of an ion generation device includes a plurality of thread-shaped conductors (11) and a holding member (12) for binding and holding the base-side portion (11c) of the plurality of thread-shaped conductors. The holding member (12) has a central part (13h), and a first holding part (13a) and second holding part (13b) extending in mutually opposite directions from the central part and being crimped and deformed, whereby the first holding part (13a) and second holding part (13b) are disposed so as to surround the base-side portion (11c) of the plurality of thread-shaped conductors along with the central part. When the direction in which the base-side portion (11c) of the plurality of thread-shaped conductors extends is defined as the axial direction, the first holding part (13a) and the second holding part (13b) are disposed so as to overlap each other in the axial direction.
